These handouts are intended to provide helpful tips to operators of USDA Foods household programs including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).

General recommendations are provided for handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting. The information on these fact sheets has been consolidated from the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Program operators should always follow their state, Tribal, and local public health department code requirements.

USDA Foods Program operators can distribute these factsheets to program staff or display them in the program office or warehouse as a reminder of best practices.
